Op Jackdaw 3.0

About Op Jackdaw 3.0

Welcome to our outdoor community in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, where the great outdoors, friendship and a shared sense of purpose bring people together.

Our project began with a small group of passionate outdoor enthusiasts, many with military backgrounds, who recognised the positive impact that spending time outdoors can have on mental health, wellbeing and building lasting friendships.

What started as a shared passion for the outdoors has grown into regular outdoor meet-ups and wild camping experiences, bringing people together to enjoy the countryside, learn new skills and escape the pressures of everyday life.

We welcome military veterans, serving personnel and members of the wider community who share our enthusiasm for the outdoors, adventure and supporting one another.

Whether you're an experienced wild camper or completely new to outdoor life, you'll find a friendly, inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, friendships are formed and no one has to feel alone.

Our mission is simple: to bring people together through the outdoors, improve wellbeing and build a stronger, more connected community in Barnsley.
