Cadets Together Activity Day 26th April

Service Description

Cadets Together Activity Day is a full-day outdoor event bringing cadets from across the area together for practical challenges, teamwork, and field-based skills. Sponsored by Barnsley Council and hosted by CMade Outdoors, the event takes place at Broad Close Farm, Silkstone, S75 4LY, providing a safe and well-managed environment for cadets to learn and take part in outdoor activities. This event is open only to young people who are current members of an Armed Forces Cadet unit based within the Barnsley area. Throughout the day, cadets will rotate through a range of activity stations including archery, axe throwing, air rifle target shooting, forest target shooting, archery tag, navigation exercises, and bushcraft skills. The focus is on building confidence, teamwork, fieldcraft awareness, and practical outdoor skills while working alongside other cadets. The activity day will run on Sunday 26 April 2026 and Saturday 12 September 2026, with arrival between 9:00am and 10:00am and collection between 3:30pm and 4:15pm. Cadets should attend in suitable outdoor clothing (uniform is not required), including sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate layers, as activities will take place outdoors for the duration of the day. Participants must also bring a packed lunch and drinks. We can be found at Broad Close Farm, Silkstone, S75 4LY, and the day offers cadets the opportunity to try new challenges, develop skills, and spend a rewarding day outdoors with others from across the local cadet community.
