We are often asked where the name CMADE originates from, CMADE is an acronym used by the military back in the day. Confidence Manner Attitude Diligence Enthusiasm were all qualities of a good instructor, I tweaked this and added ambition replacing attitude. These are the values that we pride ourselves upon and encourage during our programmes.
Our programs blend outdoor activities with leadership training, creating a unique environment where participants learn to lead, collaborate, and overcome challenges.From young adventurers to seasoned leaders, our academy offers a diverse range of programs designed to nurture leadership potential. Through outdoor expeditions, problem-solving tasks, and teamwork exercises, individuals develop resilience, adaptability, and decision-making prowess.Recognizing the evolving challenges of orchestrating outdoor education, CMADE Outdoors offers accessible Codes of Practice and Risk Assessments, easing the strain of pre-program planning.
Our aim is to elevate academic aspirations and achievements by integrating outdoor education into your curriculum. We cater to a broad spectrum of learners, spanning from Key Stage 2 to higher education, delivering curriculum-based activities and enriched learning experiences. Outdoor activities provide opportunities to link with many other curriculum areas and facilitate cross-curricular approaches to learning such as:

School Visits
At CMADE Outdoors, we welcome schools, groups and youth organisations to come and visit us at the farm. Situated in the beautiful South Yorkshire countryside, found on Cone Lane in Silkstone Barnsley, S75 4LY will get you here.
Forest Classroom
Our 12-acre forest sets the perfect conditions for forest learning environment, surrounded by beautiful South Yorkshire countryside. On miserable days our converted barn boasts a comfortable indoor learning space for focused educational sessions, providing a dynamic contrast to the outdoor adventures. Our forest learning environment is the perfect venue for learning how to thrive in the outdoors.

Our bell tents offer a blend of rustic charm and modern convenience, each with exclusive use of the camping field, ensuring privacy for your group.

Welcome to Nature Nerds “Home Ed” Farm School where curious minds explore, discover, and connect with the wonders of the natural world! Nestled in the heart of the countryside, our farm school offers a unique educational experience for children who are passionate about nature, wildlife, and sustainable farming practices.
At Nature Nerds, we believe in the power of hands-on learning and outdoor adventures. Our programs are designed to inspire young nature enthusiasts to develop a deeper appreciation for the environment while fostering a sense of stewardship for the land. From interactive workshops to exciting farm activities, there's something for every budding naturalist to enjoy.
Embark on a journey of exploration as you roam through lush meadows, winding woodland trails, and flourishing vegetable gardens. Engage in hands-on farming activities such as planting seeds, harvesting crops, and caring for farm animals. Our experienced educators guide students through immersive experiences that teach valuable skills, spark curiosity, and ignite a lifelong passion for environmental sustainability.
